نقاط يجب الانتباه إليها

"And" هو الرابط الأكثر حيادية لربط عنصرين من نفس النوع.
تعمل "Besides" كحرف جر بمعنى "بجانب" (مثال: "The keys are beside the door.")، ولكن كرابط، تعني "بالإضافة إلى / فضلاً عن".
تعتبر صيغتا first/firstly و second/secondly متكافئتين من الناحية الدلالية، لكن الصيغة التي تنتهي بـ "-ly" تنتمي إلى مستوى لغوي أكثر رسمية.

2. كلمات الربط للسبب والنتيجة

تعبر هذه الكلمات عن العلاقات السببية: فهي تحدد مصدر الحدث (السبب) أو تأثيره (النتيجة).

نقاط يجب الانتباه إليها

يُستخدم "So" بشكل أساسي في المحادثات وفي السياقات غير الرسمية.
تندرج "Therefore" و "thus" و "consequently" و "hence" ضمن المستوى الرسمي وهي مناسبة بشكل خاص للكتابة الأكاديمية أو المهنية.
يُبنى "Due to" و "owing to" مع اسم أو صيغة المصدر (gerund):
- The cancellation was due to insufficient registrations.
- Owing to missing the train, she arrived late.

نقاط يجب الانتباه إليها

تعبر "Unless" عن شرط سلبي ("إذا... لم..."):
- « I won't attend unless... » = « لن أحضر ما لم... »
تعتبر "Provided (that)" و "providing (that)" قابلة للتبادل، على الرغم من أن "provided that" أكثر شيوعًا في النصوص الرسمية.

"But" هو الرابط الأكثر شيوعًا والأكثر حيادية للتعبير عن المعارضة.
يمكن وضع "Though" في نهاية الجملة في المستوى غير الرسمي:
- It was challenging, though.
يُبنى "Despite" و "in spite of" مع اسم أو صيغة المصدر (gerund):
- Despite the obstacles, they persevered.
- In spite of feeling exhausted, she completed the marathon.

5. كلمات الربط للهدف

نقاط يجب الانتباه إليها

"To" هو الشكل الأبسط للتعبير عن الغاية، ويتبعه عادةً فعل في صيغة المصدر بدون "to" (الصيغة الأساسية للفعل).
تقدم "So that" و "in order that" جملة كاملة تحتوي على فاعل و فعل مصرف:
- I repeated the instructions so that no one would be confused.

تقدم "Such as" و "like" أمثلة ملموسة مباشرة دون علامات ترقيم خاصة.
"e.g." هو اختصار لاتيني يُفضل استخدامه في النصوص الأكاديمية أو التقنية، ويوضع عادةً بين قوسين.

تنتمي "In conclusion" و "to conclude" إلى المستوى الرسمي وهي مناسبة للعروض التقديمية أو الكتابات المهنية.
تعتبر "All in all" و "in short" أكثر غير رسمية وتستخدم بكثرة في المحادثات الشفوية.
