Frequently Asked Questions.
Here are the answers to the most frequently asked questions by our users.
How does Flow Exam detect my weaknesses in Listening and Reading?
Most platforms give everyone the same exercises.
-> Result: you study randomly, you waste time, and you never really know why you are wrong.
Flow Exam was designed to completely eliminate this problem.
1. Immediate analysis of every answer
With every question, Flow Exam instantly detects what you have mastered and what is causing you trouble.
This works across all dimensions of the test:
- specific grammar rule (prepositions, modals, comparatives, etc.),
- thematic vocabulary (finance, logistics, health, etc.),
- question type, with concrete examples from the TOEIC test:
- Part 1 — Photographs → airports, factories / warehouses, offices, meeting rooms…
- Part 2 — Question / Response → travel and location, time and scheduling, agreements / refusals / uncertainties…
- Part 3 — Conversations → business meetings, customer service, business travel…
- Part 4 — Audio Talks → company announcements, public announcements, voicemails…
- Part 5 — Incomplete Sentences (Grammar) → linking words, prepositions, adjectives / adverbs, modal verbs, present / past tenses, active / passive voice…
- Part 6 — Text Completion → professional emails, HR notices, marketing newsletters…
- Part 7 — Reading Comprehension → professional emails, press or blog articles, advertisements / brochures…
- document format (email, announcement, form, advertisement…).
Every question on the platform is classified under more than 200 themes, allowing for a fine understanding of your mistakes, a level of precision that no other TOEIC® platform offers today.
2. Automatic adaptation of your study path
Based on your results:
- if you get a theme wrong → Flow Exam offers you more of it,
- if you master a concept → its frequency automatically decreases,
- if you progress → the difficulty gradually increases.
You no longer study randomly:
Flow Exam makes you work on exactly what you need, at the moment you need it.
Why is our question correction different?
Most platforms only have one form of review:
A → explanation
B → explanation
C → explanation
D → explanation
Unfortunately, that is not enough: it doesn't truly teach you how to reason to find the correct answer.
That’s why Flow Exam goes further: we show you the complete reasoning process, meaning how a top candidate actually thinks:
- which clues to look for in the sentence or audio
(e.g., a visual keyword in Part 1, a question word in Part 2, a grammatical clue in Part 5…) - which rule or information is expected
(e.g., the type of action in an audio message, the grammatical role of a word, the logic of an email in Part 7…) - which options to eliminate
(e.g., an impossible answer given the audio context, an incorrect structure, information that does not match the document…) - why only one answer remains possible
(regardless of the part: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7).
You aren't just learning the correction: you are learning how to think to succeed in all sections.
Are the questions similar to the real TOEIC®?
All our questions adhere to the official TOEIC® standards. Our mock tests exactly reproduce the structure and difficulty of the actual exam: 100 Listening questions (45 min) + 100 Reading questions (75 min), with the same official time limits between questions and the same answer formats (3 or 4 choices depending on the section).
What sets Flow Exam apart from other platforms?
Before creating Flow Exam, we spent more than three years helping students prepare for the TOEIC.
Through private tutoring, coaching sessions, and videos on our YouTube channel Antoine TOEIC (over 300,000 views) and on TikTok (over 15,000 followers), we helped hundreds of students improve, with more than 500 achieving a score above 950.
These three years allowed us to understand what truly made the difference between those who stagnate and those who smash their scores: how to practice, when to revise, what to focus on, and how to avoid classic mistakes.
We centralized everything into a single platform: tips, strategies, exercises, flashcards, and the personalized revision schedule.
On this foundation, we built the most cutting-edge TOEIC® practice base on the market: over 20,000 questions, 30 mock tests, and exercises organized by sections, levels, and types of traps.
This isn't just a practice platform: it is a complete, turnkey preparation that guides you step-by-step so you no longer waste time bouncing between dozens of different resources.
How long does it take to improve your TOEIC® score?
In 2 words:
- Tips and strategy: ≈ +110 points
- Vocabulary and flashcards: ≈ +120 points
- Smart Training + real-life conditions: +150 to +200 points total
These gains depend on your starting level and consistency, but they reflect the results observed in students we have coached.
1. Quick progress comes in the first few days.
Thanks to the tips, exam strategies, and contextualized feedback, many students gain about +110 points in just a few days.
When you finally grasp the TOEIC® traps, the recurring question types, and the reflexes to adopt, 'automatic' mistakes disappear and scores rise quickly.
2. Vocabulary contributes to a gain of about +100 points with flashcards.
The TOEIC® relies heavily on professional vocabulary.
With automatic flashcards, error families, and the integrated review method, students observe an average of +120 points just by consolidating essential words, phrasal verbs, and recurring expressions.
This is a lever for fast and very profitable improvement.
3. Smart Training and real-life condition tests allow you to go further.
Once the basics are mastered, targeted training creates the biggest gains.
Smart Training analyzes your weaknesses, selects the most worthwhile exercises for you, and helps you unlock difficult points.
Combined with full mock tests under real conditions, it allows for gains between +150 and +200 points, depending on your initial level and consistency.
What is a Flashcard?
A flashcard is an interactive revision card.
On one side, you have a word or a question; on the other, the answer.
The principle is simple: you read the question, try to answer it in your head, then check if you were correct.
It’s like a personal mini-quiz, but designed to anchor long-term memory.
Concrete examples:
• Vocabulary:
Question → Procurement
Réponse → Approvisionnement
• Grammar:
Question → “Complete: She has been working here ___ 5 years.”
Réponse → “for (and not since, which indicates an initial date, for example 'since 2015').”
How to memorize vocabulary for the long term?
Studies conducted at Harvard, Stanford, and over 300 other research papers show that a well-programmed spaced repetition system increases retention by 200 to 300%.
This is exactly the principle behind SM-2, the memorization algorithm we use, which we have adapted for the TOEIC® by taking your actual performance into account.
Memory works like a path in a forest: if you walk it only once, it fades away. If you walk it regularly, it becomes obvious and impossible to forget.
Flow Exam applies this principle automatically: each card reappears at the precise moment your brain is about to forget it.
In concrete terms, FlowExam measures your response time, your accuracy, and any hesitation.
If you know the card well, it recedes in time.
If you hesitate or make a mistake, it comes back very quickly.
-> Everything adapts automatically: you don't have to organize anything.
What are the concrete benefits?
- You memorize 2 to 3 times faster because you review each word exactly at the right time.
- You save an enormous amount of time: 15 minutes per day is enough to durably anchor the key vocabulary and structures for the TOEIC®.
- You transform passive memory into reflex action, which is essential for answering quickly in mock tests.
Can I review my flashcards on mobile?
Yes. The Flashcards tab works perfectly on smartphones and tablets. Your progress synchronizes across all your devices via your account.
Can I import my own notes (PDF, photo, text) to create flashcards?
Yes. 3 options:
1. Write a list of words
Example you can paste directly:
to hire
deadline
budget cut
meeting room
to reschedule
supplier
invoice
profit margin
warehouse
refund
In 1 second, Flow Exam creates all the corresponding cards with question ↔ answer.
The flashcard output:
to hire — embaucher
deadline — date limite
budget cut — réduction de budget
meeting room — salle de réunion
to reschedule — reporter
supplier — fournisseur
invoice — facture
profit margin — marge bénéficiaire
warehouse — entrepôt
refund — remboursement
2. Copy-paste a text (e.g., article from the Guardian / New York Times) → Flow Exam extracts relevant TOEIC words/expressions and creates the cards.
Example (excerpt from the Guardian) you can paste directly:
Pasted text:
The company announced a major expansion of its operations in Asia last week. The CEO explained that the new investment aims to improve productivity and reduce costs by automating several processes. The project is expected to create over 500 new jobs and strengthen relationships with international suppliers.
Automatically created flashcards:
expansion — expansion / développement
operations — activités / exploitation
investment — investissement
productivity — productivité
automating — automatisation
processes — processus
suppliers — fournisseurs
reduce costs — réduire les coûts
strengthen relationships — renforcer les relations
create jobs — créer des emplois
3. Upload a PDF or a photo of a page → Flow Exam automatically transforms the content into flashcards.
Can I share my account?
No, each account is individual to ensure the reliability of your statistics and the accuracy of your progress tracking. This is what allows us to offer you training truly adapted to your level. However, you can use your account on two devices simultaneously (e.g., computer + phone). If an additional connection is detected, the previous devices will be automatically logged out to secure your space.
Can I use Flow Exam on mobile?
Yes! The platform works perfectly on mobile. Everything is accessible from your phone or tablet; you just need an internet connection.
How are the flashcards organized?
By family (themes).
You will find:
• Default families (the 1500 most recurring words), built from the analysis of 80 TOEIC® tests and the expertise developed by coaching over 500 candidates who scored over 950 points.
• An "My Errors" family (automatically generated from your mistakes in Listening and Reading),
• Your personal families (those you create yourself).
How to create a flashcard from an error?
During a practice session (Listening or Reading), click on “Add to Flashcards” (or press F).
Indicate the type of error (vocabulary, grammar, comprehension). Flow Exam automatically creates the card with the sentence, the correct answer, and a clear explanation.
What is the "Compare Me" option?
It allows you to see, in real-time or at the end of the test, how you compare to other users.
For example: “You performed better than 82% of users on this question” or “You perform better than 41% of other users”.
At the end of a mock test, you also receive comparative charts by section, as well as your overall percentile.
